One day last semester I took my 5 year old son, Ethan, to school. Normally, I drop him off and let him walk in "like a big boy," and head to what they call "the gathering room." It's basically a place where they are held hostage until class starts. ;)
I can't remember exactly why, but that day I ended up going back to the school to talk to the teacher about something. As I was walking through the hallway and rounded the corner, there were a group of students walking past me. Then I heard these words: "That's MY Dad! Hey, everyone. That's MY Dad!"
Ethan was so proud to tell everyone that I was his Dad. He wasn't ashamed to let everyone know that he belonged to me.
What an incredible lesson for all of us to learn! Come on! I mean, what if we lived our lives in such a way that no matter where we were, or who we're around...we are so proud, and so unashamed to let everyone we know who we belong to.
